Day 1

Arrive into Tanzania

You step off the plane and you have arrived in Tanzania. Your arrival airport is Kilimanjaro and you will be met by your personal guide for your stay in Tanzania with Boutique Safari. Take your private transfer from the airport to the city centre of Arusha for your first night.

Day 2

Tarangire National Park

Enjoy a relaxed start to your morning in Arusha with a beautiful breakfast in your hotel. Upon check out, your guide will meet you with your safari vehicle and you will head off to visit your first national park in Tanzania, Tarangire National Park.

Tarangire National Park covers 2,600 square kilometers and is on the migration route (April) to Lake Natron. During the great migration, you have the opportunity to see wildebeest, gazelle, zebra and buffalo. The marshy shores of the lakes are home to flocks of birds: green wood hoopoes, fisher lovebirds, tallish herons, white bellied go-away birds and giant kingfishers. Tarangire is noted for its baobab trees and splendid vistas of rolling savannah and acacia woodland. While visiting you will also have the opportunity to to observe resident lions, giraffe, elephant, and black rhino.

Your lunch today will be a beautiful picnic lunch under the baobab trees. While enjoying your lunch, soak in the majestic landscapes and observe the wildlife in nature.

Lake Manyara Serena Lodge

The lodge is set in a peaceful location amidst the rich wildlife and unsurpassed tranquility of Lake Manyara National Park. The lake is home to over 300 migratory birds including flamingoes, long-crested eagles and grey-headed kingfisher; our lodge is designed to mimic this extraordinary birdlife, with an architectural motif featuring swooping avian curves and vibrantly coloured wall frescoes depicting the intricacy of bird migratory patterns.

Accommodations are in circular two-storey “rondavels”, pays homage to tradition.

Day 3

Tarangire National Park to Ngorongoro

Absorb the local wildlife that call Lake Manyara home while enjoying a freshly made local breakfast at your lodge. You may even find time to take a nature walk before jumping back into the safari vehicle and heading to Ngorongoro National Park.

While travelling, your guide will point out wildlife and share information about migration patterns, animal interactions and flora in the landscapes you are passing through. Enjoy a picnic lunch as you watch the wildlife graze.

Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge

Nestled high above the plains into the Crater’s jagged rim, cloaked in river stone and indigenous vines, Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge is barely visible to the naked eye. Framed by arched stone passages and timbered decks, its torch-lit walls are adorned with stylized cave paintings. At the stone heart of the lodge burns a glowing fire, which is kept constantly alight. Rooms are looped around the Crater rim. Day 4

A day in the Ngorongoro Crater

Descending into the crater, you will be able to see the vastness of the crater and truly appreciate why it is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the world’s largest intact crater, covering an area of 304 square kilometers. On the crater floor, grassland blends into swamps, lakes, rivers, woodland and mountains – all a haven for wildlife, including the largest predator population in Africa. The volcanic crater is jam-packed with wildlife, including all the big 5 game. Its pride and joy, however, is that it remains the last great wild refuge for black rhino.

Day 5

Ngorongoro National Park to Serengeti

After a day in the crater yesterday, you will have the opportunity to circle the crater and travel to the center of the Serengeti National Park. Along the way your guide will show you pockets of wildlife and beautiful vistas.

Day 6

The day in Serengeti National Park

Head off today with your guide to experience Serengeti National Park. The Park offers the most complex and least disturbed ecosystem on earth. A unique combination of diverse habitats enables it to support more than 30 species of large herbivores and nearly 500 species of birds. Its landscape varies from open grass plains in the south, savanna with scattered acacia trees in the center, hilly, wooded grassland in the north, to extensive woodland and black clay plains to the west.

The Serengeti plains are host to a dramatic annual migration of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and numerous other species of animals indigenous to the area.

Day 7

Serengeti and Lake Manyara

Today rise early to get in a morning safari in the Serengeti. At sunrise you will see a vast array of wildlife ending their day or just starting. After a late breakfast, head through south through Serengeti national park on the lookout for more wildlife and different fauna. You will end you day in Lake Manyara.

Day 8

Lake Manyara to Arusha

After an enjoyable breakfast, take your last game drive in the Lake Manyara National Park before driving back to Arusha for your evening flight.

Every imaginable East African animal is found in Lake Manyara in abundance and is the perfect memory of Tanzania to be left with. There are great herds of buffalo,
zebra, wildebeest and several varieties of gazelle. Mahogany, sausage tree and croton are alive with blue monkeys and vervet monkeys. Some of the most amazingly large pods of hippos congregate at the rivers emerging into the lake, and the birdlife are plentiful.
