What makes a safari a life-changing experience?
We create bespoke safaris by focusing the experience on you. Every decision – which guide, which itinerary, which lodge – is customized for you. And we promise it will include authentic Maasai engagement and cultural exchanges.
Without question – your safari guide is key. Our guides are carefully selected based on your interests. What does that mean? We have bird experts for bird-watchers, women guides for women guests, guides who focus on families, on seniors, on gay or lesbian guests or on an event such as the annual wildebeest migration or climbing Kilimanjaro.
We’ve mentioned our mission about inspiring change one safari at a time. We believe that through our philosophy of ensuring you engage with local people and culture, both guests and locals have life-altering experiences. Often we begin to appreciate our differences, but, more importantly, understand all we have in common.
Aligning with our mission, we created new safari programs not available elsewhere in Africa. Our Women’s Safari Program is one example – in an industry dominated by men, establishing a safari program guided by women and focusing on their interests is “inspiring change”. We hope to see more local women choosing guiding as a profession and intend to pay for some of the girls we are putting through school to attend guiding school. Check our Women’s Safaris for 2105 and Women’s Safaris 2016.
We also have a Senior’s Safari Program. Why? The Maasai revere our elders and we invest time learning from them. Many travellers to Tanzania are seniors who constantly amaze us with their spirit, wisdom and warmth. Our Seniors Program is designed to pace the safari in alignment with our guests’ needs and to provide unique learning experiences such as meeting Maasai elders.
Another change-inspiring program is our Gay and Lesbian Safari Program. We appreciate that homophobia is decreasing in many parts of the world. However, African traditions are slow to embrace such change. This creates fear, prejudice and ignorance. We believe this must change. Boutique not only welcomes gay and lesbian travellers, we ensure you feel safe and embraced. You’ll have an unforgettable safari and help Tanzanians evolve.
Appreciating that many travellers have special interests or a particular background, we have expert guides to service all our guests. Boutique Safaris often partners with interesting and world renowned travel, photographer’s safari, bird, scientific, and educational experts to create special interest tours.
These special tours provide enhanced learning opportunities for those interested in the particular area of focus. They are normally intimate tours with an important focus such as the wildebeest migration, elephant behaviour, the culture of the Maasai, the hunting techniques of predators or birds. We’re happy to work with you to create your special interest tour.
